Reflective Post #12
While sitting in one of my other classes something struck me as presentation after presenation was delivered. Nowhere in the instructions did it say we needed to create a powerpoint to present our ideas to the class we were simply told to create a presentation. Thus made me start thinking about how often we resort, as students, to creating a powerpoint for a presentation or as a way to depict information. I am not sure how good this is. When given the opportunity to use any format we use what is comfortable for us to use. This is a bit depressing to me because we talk about how we want to have our students exposed to a variety of technology to be ready for the work force and further innovation. However, what do we show? That we only want to use what is comfortable technology; the technology that we have grown up using and understsand. Students learn more by modeling then by strictly verbally teaching them. Thus, I challenge myself and others to use other forms of technolgoy when presenting things.
